What is the difference between a water softener and a water filtration system?
A water softener removes minerals like calcium and magnesium that cause hardness. A filtration system targets contaminants like bacteria, sediment, chlorine, and heavy metals. Many homes in Northern Ontario benefit from both.
How do I know if I have hard water?
Common signs include limescale buildup on fixtures, spots on dishes, dry skin after showering, and appliances that wear out faster than expected. A free water test from B&R Water Treatment will confirm your hardness levels.
What contaminants does reverse osmosis remove?
Kinetico RO systems remove up to 99% of dissolved contaminants, including fluoride, lead, arsenic, nitrates, and chlorine — contaminants that standard filtration systems cannot fully address.
Do Kinetico systems work during a power outage?
Yes. Kinetico water softeners and reverse osmosis systems are non-electric, they run on water pressure alone, with no timers or electricity required. They continue working even when the power is out.
How long do Kinetico water treatment systems last?
Kinetico non-electric systems have a life expectancy of 25 to 30 years. All Kinetico equipment comes with a 10-year warranty covering all individual parts.
What types of pumps does B&R Water Treatment install?
